Is Qlero a cheaper alternative to Allocora?
Qlero is not automatically a cheaper Allocora alternative. Qlero Lite starts at €200/month excluding VAT, with annual invoicing by default. Allocora has a free tier and paid plans from US$79/month, or US$63/month equivalent paid annually. The relevant comparison is the plan that covers your workload, including its limits, required extras and billing commitment.
Start with the limits behind the price
Qlero prices processed sales rows annually. Allocora lists monthly row and run limits, plus payee and active-source limits. Compare your busiest import month alongside your yearly total; the two allowance models are not interchangeable.
Qlero Lite
€200 /month
1 million processed sales rows per year. Excludes VAT; annual invoicing is the default. Your written quote and order form confirm the final scope.
Custom template creation requires Pro or Enterprise; some advanced contract terms do too. Confirm the Payments add-on in your quote. Check these requirements before treating Lite as the relevant price.
Allocora Agency
US$79 /month
5,000 rows per month, 150 payees, 10 monthly runs and 3 active sources. Annual billing is US$756 upfront, equivalent to US$63/month.
Allocora also offers a Free plan. Its paid tiers share a product and scale by usage limits; the lowest-priced tier is only useful if it covers your workload.
Prices are shown in each vendor's published currency. These are entry-plan examples, not equivalent quotes or a currency conversion. Check taxes, required extras and implementation scope before comparing totals.

Compare the work you need to complete
The descriptions below reflect the cited documentation. They are not feature scores, and an unmentioned capability should remain a question for the vendor.
Importing sales files
Qlero
Templates map provider columns into sales fields. Creating custom templates requires Pro or Enterprise; confirm that the proposed plan covers your source formats.
Allocora
Documents music-revenue import templates and mapping checks. It explicitly distinguishes these templates from direct provider integrations.
Check in your demo: Test a representative source file, its totals and an unresolved row. An upload alone does not prove the resulting statement is correct.
Applying royalty terms
Qlero
Documents conditional royalty terms. Deductions, escalations, participation overrides and the PPD royalty base require Pro or Enterprise.
Allocora
Describes visual allocation rules, simulation and calculation runs for revenue-sharing workflows. Its royalty guide maps revenue to payees and rules.
Check in your demo: Ask both vendors to demonstrate your actual agreement terms on the plan quoted. These public descriptions do not establish comparative calculation accuracy.
Reviewing statements
Qlero
Documents review, publication and closing. A closed period cannot be reopened or recalculated, and there is no Unpublish action.
Allocora
Describes run snapshots, statement exports and approval or lock controls. These are documented capabilities, rather than results of a hands-on test here.
Check in your demo: Review one statement and its supporting detail. Ask how each system handles a correction after the original statement has been shared.
Recording payments
Qlero
The documented manual payment-run workflow requires the Payments add-on. Your team makes the bank transfer separately; executing the run records payment status.
Allocora
Documents importing external payment confirmations and matching them to frozen settlement obligations. This records payment evidence; it does not send money. Reconciliation access is role-controlled and is not a separately purchased feature.
Check in your demo: Identify which service actually moves funds and who reconciles the result. Include any payment-service charges in your cost comparison.
Which belongs on your shortlist?
Consider Allocora when…
Its allocation, statement and reconciliation workflow meets your requirements within the relevant usage limits. For a small workload, test its Free plan before assuming that changing to a paid system will lower your software bill.
Consider Qlero when…
Its documented sales-import, agreement and reporting workflow matches how your label works. Ask for the plan and optional scope that demonstrate your terms and reporting requirements, then compare the written proposal.
These are evaluation recommendations from Qlero, not independently tested rankings.
Before you switch, price the whole move
- Define the workload. List yearly rows, peak-month imports, payees, runs, sources, agreement terms and required outputs.
- Request a matched proposal. Include subscription, billing commitment, taxes, required add-ons and any agreed onboarding services.
- Agree on migration scope. Cover catalog data, agreements, opening balances, historical statements and payment records. Do not assume one export transfers all of them.
- Test a historical period. Compare the proposed setup with an approved reference, investigate differences and agree on the cutover before issuing statements.
This is our recommended evaluation process. No migration duration, savings percentage or calculation-performance advantage is established by this review.
Common questions
Is Qlero a cheaper alternative to Allocora for music royalty processing?
There is no universal price winner. Qlero Lite starts at €200/month excluding VAT with annual invoicing by default. Allocora offers a free tier and paid plans from US$79/month, or US$63/month equivalent paid annually. Compare the plan that supports your volume, contract terms and required extras, using the same currency and billing period.
Are monthly and annual sales-row allowances interchangeable?
No. Qlero publishes annual processed-sales-row allowances; Allocora lists monthly revenue-row limits alongside payee, run and source limits. Check your busiest import month as well as your annual total. Multiplying a monthly limit by twelve does not establish a pooled annual allowance.
Which Qlero plan should I compare with Allocora?
Choose the plan from your requirements. Lite's entry price is not the right comparison if you need custom import-template creation or advanced terms such as deductions and escalations: those require Pro or Enterprise. Confirm Payments and any other optional scope in the written quote.
Does a royalty statement or payment record mean money has been sent?
No. Qlero's documented manual payment run records payments after transfers arranged outside Qlero. Allocora's reconciliation guide records external payment confirmations against calculated obligations. Confirm the actual transfer service and responsibilities separately.
What should we check before migrating from Allocora to Qlero?
Agree on the scope for catalog data, agreements, opening balances, historical statements and payment records. We recommend testing a representative historical period and investigating differences against an approved reference before switching. This is evaluation guidance, not a promise of a one-click migration or a fixed implementation time.
